Robert Joe Dial

Robert Joe Dial was born in Spokane, Washington to Harry and Merna Dial and departed this life on March 18, 2020, at 71 years of age. Bob was the youngest boy with two much older brothers - Ken and LeRoy who taught Bob to be strong and resourceful, yet with a kind nature that resulted in Bob becoming a dedicated husband and father. Bob went to Gonzaga University then attended Allen Hancock College in Santa Maria, California where he met and married Marjorie Ann McClure, an Air Force brat who loved his gentle nature and humor.

Bob and Marjorie were married for 50 wonderful years and had sons, Dustin and Darin. All the while working long hours, Bob made sure to instill in his sons high moral codes and a dedicated sense of duty that resulted in Dustin, graduating from Western New Mexico University with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and becoming a police officer, and Darin graduating as a pilot from the Air Force Academy with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and attaining the rank of Lt. Col. Bob was also blessed with three grandkids; Alexander, Sidney, and Paige that he loved dearly and was very proud and supportive of.

Bob had always worked since a very young age whether it was washing cars or picking and thinning apples. Bob earned his Bachelors’s Degree from San Francisco State University in International Marketing and worked at PG&E until he moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1979 with wife Marjorie, sons Dustin age 3 and Darin age 10 days old, and Brandy the Irish Setter.

Bob lastly worked as a Finance Manager at Budget Car Sales for 22 years and was a well-liked expert in his field. Bob was always able to put everybody at ease with a smile and a quick-often politically incorrect joke. Bob always made time for his family and enjoyed collecting Dinky Diecast toys and also was a big fan of Western Art.

Bob was a true gentleman with a kind heart and a great sense of humor. Bob will sincerely be missed by everyone who knew him, especially his family.
